Yesterday the world lost a great man. He was the 41st president of the United States of America.
He was also my 9th cousin.
My family line to George.........
Though I never met him, I admired him for his style and for his intellect in all things.
George and I and my siblings share an ancestral great grandfather named Thomas Pope.
Thomas was George's 8th great grandfather through his 7th great grandmother, Sarah Pope Huckins.
Thomas was my 9th great grandfather through my 8th great grandfather, Isaac Pope.
Sarah Pope Huckins and Isaac Pope were sister and brother.
Most people know pretty much everything there is to know about our 41st president so I will not go into detail here. This page is to remember a great human being and one who I am proud to be related to through mutual ancestors.
